The BIG Ticket: Dave Wakeman says, “The WNBA Could Have a $1B Team”

hould…already, if you ask me.

I was on with Scott Friedman for his Twitter Spaces.

I think we had a good conversation.

Maybe not as electric and fiesty as Randy Nichols v. Eric Fuller, but I can throw some heat at Scott’s choice of snacks…if that’s what you need to tune in.

If you click on the picture, it will take you to the full conversation.

But let me share a few highlights with you.

  1. NFL tickets may be moving slower than normal, but there isn’t one factor. It is a combination of many factors.
  2. Will there be a $1B valuation WNBA team by 2035? I think there should be one already.
  3. Why has it taken so long for the WNBA to catch on? Bad marketing. Lack of resources. Generic sportsbiz approach.
  4. Why Detroit and Cleveland for WNBA expansion? Wrong question. How can they be successful?
  5. Oasis: a cultural moment for the UK. Calls back to a time when things were a little more hopeful and optimistic.
  6. I don’t know what will happen with the antitrust enforcement of Live Nation.
  7. American consumers are prioritizing debt reduction. 72% of consumers want to pay off debt this year. 49% are prioritizing paying off their credit cards.

We got into a lot.

I think you’ll learn something.

I had four pages of notes and got through almost everything. The BIG Ticket: Dave Wakeman says, “The WNBA Could Have a $1B Team”
