There Are No Unimportant Jobs…

Football season is getting ready to start and one of the best things about football is that it is truly a team sport.

You have 11 men on a side, working together to score or stop the other team from scoring.

This isn’t about sports though.

Its actually about any organization we are involved in because there are no unimportant jobs.

In a company like Apple, we like to think that the design and engineers are the most important. But in reality if the Apple Store wasn’t as elegant, the company wouldn’t be as successful.

When you work on the set of a movie, we think about the stars, but actually a movie is a huge team and every role is important.

On and on like this.

Which makes another point, not about teams, but about marketing.

That is that customer service is the most effective form of marketing.

Think about any time you go to a restaurant like visiting Chick-Fil-A and how they have found themselves jumping ahead of other fast casual restaurants because they say “please” and “thank you.”

The point is that every job is important in your organization. If you don’t feel like this is true, maybe you have too many employees or maybe you aren’t paying attention to your customers enough.
