This is my 1,000th post here on DaveWakeman.com.
Here are a few lessons that I have learned from all of those words, ideas, and posts.
1. Have a voice: You don’t want to do the me too thing. You need to have a specific voice and a POV. I’ve not always done a good job of that, but over the last year, I feel like I have gotten a lot better at being me and sharing my POV with you.
2. Be consistent: In many cases, a lot of my colleagues like to feel like their content is like some miracle that has to come down from the ether to them. But the fact is that blogging, writing, and all of these things are skills that you can learn and expand upon. To give you an idea of my method, I keep a notebook of all the things that bug me and piss me off and I write about them.
3. Don’t be afraid to not know the answer: You don’t have to have all of the answers. You don’t even have to have most of them. You just need to be willing to explore. I’ve heard Don DeLillo say that he finds that he doesn’t know what he thinks until he writes about it. I feel the same way.
4. Push yourself: If you are writing regularly, you will have new ideas and new concepts come across your plate. The challenge is to embrace them and to expose them to the light.
There are lots more, but those four will help you get a start…
From my POV, thank you for being here.
When I see that people are reading and sharing the content, I am always honored.
I’m going to continue to push forward about ideas that will lead all of us to make more money, to have more successful businesses, and to continue to grow.
