Hi!

National Theatre Wales had its budget cut and ceased to exist in December.

Sheen put his money behind the Welsh National Theatre to tell Welsh stories with Welsh actors.
The focus is on filling the gap left by the National Theatre and reaching non-traditional audiences.
I bring this up because Michael says that he thinks you can reach people with the classics but with more modern or unique things.
I agree.
I put this out to you this morning because I was thinking about the Kennedy Center.
Many people have been concerned that the changes to the Kennedy Center’s board structure will make the Kennedy Center less willing to offer up shows and performances that reflect the full scope of the American experience.
These two examples bring to mind a few questions that people might struggle with:
- Whose idea of art are you actually referring to?
- How are you making sure you are relevant?
- What are you doing differently to reflect the world today?
These are strategy questions.
These are marketing questions.
These are branding questions.
Too often, we don’t ask them.
