Hi!
Week 2 is starting.
Thanks for voting in Friday’s poll.
You seem to dig the daily notes but want some more long form.
I like these shorter notes because it gives me a chance to share some of the things I read and note with you.
But I will work in some longer stuff.
I can’t give you a time schedule because I don’t like to write the longer stuff if I don’t have anything to say.
Maybe it is fun to ask a question each day.
To the Tickets!
Jordan Brand released a new commercial:
(Nike hasn’t uploaded the video to YouTube yet…so, you’ll have to go to the link.)
This commercial is great.
I love it because I am a sneake
rhead.
I love it because it calls back to the history of the Air Jordan.
I love it because it also positions the Jordan brand for the future.
It is a commercial that could only be made with 40 years of brand equity.
What matters for you?
Nike has some strong brand assets.
You would know this is a Jordan commercial without the sound.
This means the brand is distinct.
How are you going to be distinct?
Nike has been consistent.
The Jumpman has shown up over and over, 40 years.
This makes the first point relevant.
If they weren’t showing up over and over, the brand might never have been established or it might have died out after Mike’s career ended.
What are you doing to show up consistently?
Old brands can be revitalized.
You see young Michael Jordan.
Mars Blackman.
Jalen Hurts.
So many people to bring the brand into today and into the future.
That’s how you keep a brand relevant.
I like this one.
What do you do to stay relevant?
