As we’ve been working our way through whatever wave and stage of the COVID-19 pandemic we are in right now, I’ve been thinking about how to present my value and what I wanted to focus on next.
What I recognized is that my long-term focus on the ability to create and capture opportunities in any market is still relevant and interesting to me, but the shape of the work is different.
Instead of only focusing on revenue, I’m going to look at how opportunities express themselves even when profit isn’t involved in the case of non-profits, ideas, and other places.
In digging in deeper, I wanted to go one step further to label these ideas as the “Process of Opportunity Capture” and they cover 3 large areas:
- Strategy: Why some ideas win and others lose?
- Branding: How an idea/company/person shows up in the world?
- Marketing: How you create and capture opportunities?
