A short lull in the program for me to write up a quick bit about this year’s Ticketing Professionals Conference in Birmingham, UK.
Here’s a list of quick takes:
Opening keynote speaker, Bill Hogg, reminded everyone of something very important…your employees are people and by treating them like just employees, you are missing out on a competitive advantage because people are the key to winning on today’s business world.
Data is about making decisions.
You have to constantly keep it fresh and use it or it fades away pretty quickly.
If you want to see how positive change from data happens, you should look at Simon Mabb and his team at Booking Protect. They won a major award for their customer service last week and they used data to find out things that they may have missed otherwise.
In Brazil, Isabelle Balsemilli has been using data with football clubs to make sure that they know their customers and take action on the right things.
For Martin Gammeltoft at ActivityStream, I learned that we’ve moved from no data to too much data pretty quickly and that is causing a lot of issues for people and makes the barrier to taking action tough.
As always, Andrew Thomas and his team have put together a great event.
And, the big ideas are happening in the hallways and the trade show.
