Why does direct marketing work?

I’ve made a pretty good reputation for myself in direct marketing. And, despite the rumors of its decline, direct marketing is still quite successful. 

The reasons that direct marketing is still effective are too many to list right now, but 3 that you should consider are this:

* targeted: when you make the effort to communicate directly with someone, you need to know your audience, at least to an extent. 

* measurable: more so that banners and other digital ads, direct campaigns can be measured in a bit more effective way because you can get more specific feedback on your actions.

* repeatable: if you have success with targeting the right audience and discover what works, you can repeat the actions with some semblance of results…things change, but you can adjust if you know certain things. If you are just throwing spaghetti against the wall, you can’t.
