In today’s economy, we’ve become overwhelmed with choice.
There is a seemingly infinite number of options for IT products, professional services, entertainment, nonprofit causes, whatever.
The challenge that all of us are dealing with is that because our attention is so divided and the competition is so great that we have been forced into two competing silos:
Better or Cheaper.
Cheaper is easy. Everything has a certain level of quality, passable. And, being good enough is pretty much standard operating procedure today.
Better on the other hand is hard.
There’s not really a manual for how to be better at what you do.
It requires an investment of passion, care, and thought that isn’t always evident to the untrained eye.
The thing about cheaper is that it is a decision you can make in an instant. Cutting prices is simple. You are charging $2, let’s charge $1 and see what happens.
This sets you up for the race to the bottom.
Lord knows, you might win.
The other side of the coin, the side of better is a much different beast.
Better requires consistent effort and consistent focus over years.
Better isn’t a one time event. B
Better is a philosophy.
The choice is yours.
