There are any number of reasons that companies continue to lose out on really great employees, but one thing that still bugs me when I talk to HR people, executives, and others is when you miss out on someone because they aren’t following the dots of what someone should have done.
Talent will look for opportunities and might not follow the most direct line.
As long as you are expecting your pipeline to adhere to a straight line, you are going to miss out on really great opportunities to bring qualified people into your organizations.
