I’m sure in the past I have written about the trouble with the modern job review…and I bring it up today because I think it is important that we begin to focus on output based measurements and that we begin to move away from this culture of everyone passing through.
Here are the 3 measure I would use if I were designing a job performance program:
* Met Expectations, Goals, and Objectives
* Exceeded Expectations, Goals, and Objectives
* Didn’t Meet Expectations, Goals, and Objectives
It places a lot more of the emphasis on the manager to set clear goals and objectives and to have a better understanding of the outputs that they want to see achieved, but in the long run it will lead to great success, clearer communications, and a more effective work place.
