In reading Hugh MacLeod’s book Evil Plans, Hugh writes about each person or business having a moment when they start acting like proper adults.
I think that over the past few days I have had that moment with this blog. For the several months that I have been blogging here and/or rewriting and restarting the blog, I have often been frustrated with finding my voice.
For me the voice has been lost in a need to feel that I needed to sound especially writerly or high minded, when in truth, the words are just a way to connect to anyone that might stumble on this thing, take a few minutes to read and maybe find something useful here.
Up to this point I feel as if I haven’t really reached that.
I’ve talked about using Chris Brogan’s concept of 3 words this year to make 2011 a much better year than the last few years have been. My three words, if you haven’t seen them before are reinvent, challenge, excel.
I’ll continue to strive for that, but with a much more personal voice.
