Stop Stealing Dreams…With Audio

Yesterday, Seth Godin released his latest manifesto Stop Stealing Dreams (What Is School For?)  (available for free at the link).

This manifesto is a challenge to parents, students, teachers and leaders everywhere to deal with the state of our education system and to change it into something that addresses the challenges we face now.

I feel pretty strongly that we need to teach our children and future generations how to more effectively process information, not how to just be data hogs for the sake of having useful facts for the next time they are in a barroom trivia contest.

So when I saw that Seth didn’t produce and audio recording for the book and that people were interested in having the ability to listen to this manifesto in their cars, or on their MP3 players, I put one together.

You can get the audio file here.  (The link seems to be having problems and only working with Windows based Operating Systems, even though I tested it earlier.  If someone has a good hosting solution for the Mac, I’ll happily redirect the traffic there.)

I recorded the file in Garageband, so I don’t imagine that there are any problems, but any issues with ennunciation are due entirely to the fact that I pulled this together in about 4-5 hours last night.  So all I can say is that if something is garbled but catches your attention, go to the manifesto…its free on the Internet after all.

P.S.  If someone knows an easy way for me to post the file to iTunes, I would be happy to post it there too.  But this 3rd party site was the best I could do on short notice.
