I’m a big reader. I keep a list of the books I read and post them at the end of each year so that I can maybe offer up some suggestions to others for their reading choices.
Having said that, I am a big fan of the library and, especially, this new ability for people to get e-books from their local library.
Interestingly enough, today Seth Godin published a blog called ‘Selling vs. Reading’ where he discussed the dynamics of writing so that you can share your ideas or writing so that you can get paid.
After hearing of publishers that want to put caps on the number of times an e-book can be lent, I’ve come to the conclusion that if you are a writer or involved in publishing, that you are better off hoping and promoting the spread of your ideas. In a world that is becoming more and more focused on finding creative solutions to problems, it is to everyone’s advantage that better and better ideas get out into the consciousness of our society be that through blogs, books, e-books, and other forms of media.
