In my little about me blurb, I’ve mentioned that I’ve started or helped start and rebuild a number of businesses. Now that would give you the impression that I am pretty good at making sense of business, and you wouldn’t be wrong. But, I think that the aspect of business that I have found the most useful and the most helpful in my being successful over the years was my ability to market myself, my companies, and my products…and, typically, when I have suffered, it has been a marketing issue.
So for today I wanted to write a little bit about my philosophy on marketing. Its rather quite simple and I think if you take it and apply it, you will find yourself having better interactions with your customers.
1. Everything is marketing. So make sure you are making smart decisions at every level.
2. Always keep in mind that unless you have a monopoly, you need to knock the socks off of people and make them know that there is no better place that they can invest their time, money, etc than with you.
