If You’ve Lost Your Way…

I meet a lot of people and sometimes I have even found myself in this position, so I am not afraid to talk about it, but what do you do when you have lost your way?

The first thing is to stop everything for just long enough to realize what has happened.

In my own experience, I have caught myself months and years down the road, digging a deeper and deeper hole for myself because I didn’t take an hour or a day to just stop and think.  Self reflection is a lost art these days, but stop, do it!

Next, take a minute to think where you are and where you want to go.

Its not easy, but again, look at yourself and decide who you are and what you want to do.  Its much easier than just going along.

Finally, point yourself in the right direction again.

This isn’t always easy.  You are fighting inertia and gravity here.  But you can get help.  You can ask for favors.  You can get advice.  You can regain your lost momentum.

The first thing is to stop digging though.

What are some of your ways to get turned around?
