As I stop in Starbucks this morning to get a cup of coffee in my shiny new Starbucks tumbler, that comes with free drip coffee throughout the month of January, I am reminded that economic incentives work.
How many paper cups won’t be used this month because people have gotten these tumblers?
How many paper cups over the year will be saved because after about 21 days, a new pattern of action begins to become a habit?
This Starbucks tumbler is a sure example of a good use of an economic incentive to encourage a behavior.
I’ll look forward to seeing the results at the end of the month.
