That’s a question that I was pondering today as I was talking with a friend of mine.
He said to me, “you are pretty consistent with your marketing.”
And, while that is pretty true…the thought that ran through my head was that maybe I could be even more consistent.
Consistent as in daily.
Now I know I have written about similar stuff on this blog before, but I actually got to thinking about some of the things that we all struggle with at some point.
Take for example the following common challenges that I encounter when talking with people:
- prospecting
- follow up
- content creation
All of these are great because you can make them habitual.
You can easily make them daily habits.
How?
Think about this:
What if you did just one prospecting activity a day?
What would that mean?
Make a phone call?
Send one email?
Make one new contact?
Each and every day…over the course of a year, that would come out to 365 new people that you have connected with in some way or shape.
Are all of them going to pan out?
No.
But that would never be the case anyway.
Or, follow up.
What if you set aside 10 minutes a day for follow up.
You might not get to everything or everyone, but it wouldn’t be such a huge event, right?
Or, the same with content creation.
If you say you are just going to write once a day.
Maybe it is only going to be 25 words. Or one tweet about business. Or whatever you want to make it to start contributing your own thoughts to the conversation.
What would that do to you?
I’ve been trying to make showing up on this blog a daily habit.
I’m getting better.
But I am going to say that I am going to make it my habit that no matter what, I will be here once a day for 50 words, even on vacation.
How’s that for commitment?
Its not like if I have something that I absolutely have to share I can’t just write more…right.
And, the same goes for prospecting.
If I just reach out to one new person a day, no matter what.
What might happen?
Are you with me?
What are you going to commit to doing each and every day?
