10 Essential Ideas That Drive Your Revenue Generation!

spongebob

A lot of times people ask me about what plays into being the “revenue architect” and there is a lot…obviously.

Because the things that I might consider important can change depending on the nature of a project, I thought I would give you a little primer of what you need to regularly think about if you want to maximize your revenue generation machine.

  1. Strategy: Strategy is the heart of everything you do. Strategy is a word that gets dumped around a lot and in my experience it is something that is often misunderstood. To answer the question about what your strategy really is…it is the accumulation and answer to 3 simple questions:
    • What is the value you create?
    • How can use it and will buy it?
    • How do we reach them?
  2. Marketing: The fallacy of building a better mousetrap is just that, a fallacy. You have to have a message and deliver it consistently if you want your market to know you are there. That’s marketing.
  3. Branding: Is a pretty simple proposition…it is essentially what do you want your market and target buyers to think about you when you aren’t there.
  4. Partnerships: A lot of times you can work with someone else to reach your audience or create value. This is where partnerships can be your friend in helping you maximize your ability to reach new audiences and markets.
  5. Growth: A lot of times we see companies that want to cut their way to growth, stop it. You need to focus on creating opportunities and growing.
  6. Evolution of a business: Businesses are living entities, treat them as such. Don’t allow your organization to be trapped by doing things the way that they have always been done.
  7. Customers: Customers first! Customers second! Customers always!
  8. Customer Experience: You want to create an environment where your customers want to do business with you and they want to refer their friends and colleagues…that’s customer experience.
  9. Sales: Nothing happens without a sale. Period!
  10. Leadership: Results don’t just happen. This is where leadership comes into play. You need a leader with vision and the ability to inspire.
