Do You Believe In Consistency?:

Here’s a great tip that you can use for the rest of your career:

If you want to improve the performance of your marketing and advertising and branding, you need to focus on how consistently you deliver your message!

Pretty simple, right?

The number one key to the success or failure of your marketing efforts can often be found in how consistent you are at delivering your value proposition.

But, when you go around and talk to owners and executives at any number of different types of companies you find the one of the rare attributes of a company’s branding is the consistency of delivering of that message to their audience and targeted audience over and over again.

Which means that consistency is one of the things that a lot of us need help with.

How do you make sure you are consistent in the delivery of your messaging and branding?

1. Build yourself a marketing and advertising calendar:

Schedules go hand in hand with consistency.

A calendar is a valuable tool for any marketing and advertising effort because it enables you to do 3 things:

  • Focus on your value proposition and make sure it is still relevant.
  • Focus on making sure your efforts are focused on your audience and the audience you definitely want to reach.
  • Focus on ways to reach your audience that are most relevant.

2. Create checklists:

Along with your calendar, you want to make checklists for yourself.

This will be a great tool for you because depending on what your particular best actions are, you can create a system to help you create better content or marketing materials.

Say if you are going to write an article, your checklist can help you:

  • develop a topic
  • find sources
  • create deadlines
  • outline the piece

And, many more.

By doing the checklist, you can then be more likely to turn your calendar into actions.

3. Revisit your marketing efforts monthly or quarterly:

Always be revisiting your efforts.

Your calendar is going to change depending on what you are facing in the market.

Your checklists are going to change as you get more efficient in your outreach and marketing.

Your market is likely to change because the market changes.

The key is that you need to always revisit your marketing efforts so that you can make sure you are paying attention to the right things and focused on the right things, but most importantly, doing the right things consistently.
