A lot of times we hear certain words thrown around with such nonchalance that we can lose sight of what their true meaning is.
One of those words for me is strategy…
In too many instances, strategy is thrown around as just a low level, after thought of a word that isn’t the lifeblood of almost everything about your business.
Here is the thing, strategy is the thing you need to ensure you are moving in the right direction, to make certain that you aren’t point off in a half cocked way at unlikely opportunities, and that you aren’t struggling unnecessarily in markets that have no relevance to your value.
The real meaning of your strategy is to focus you on what you want to do and what you want your company to become.
As I have stated over and over again: strategy comes down to 3 essential questions that you need to ask and answer over and over…
1. What is the tangible value that I provide or want to provide?
2. Who can use this value and will buy it?
3. How do I reach this market?
These questions are simple, but they get right to the heart of your strategy and its purpose for your business…which is to focus you and your organization on the most valuable and likely opportunities.
