Chris Brogan does a little practice of coming up with 3 words to help him frame the coming year.
I wanted to take a moment to offer up my own take on the practice as we head into 2020…since I’ve been off the grid for the last 2 weeks, thinking about what to do and where to point my focus in the coming years.
As Chris says in his post this morning: keep the words broad, reflect on them daily, and use them to spur you on.
Here are mine:
- Grow: I’m going to focus on growth this year; in business, but also as a person.
- Do: Last year, if you followed along with my adventures, I had a big year of doing things I’d never done before. I’m going to double down on that this year.
- Push: I realize living in DC that the word I’d use to describe the city more than anything is complacency. And, I hate it. How do you overcome complacency, you push. I’ll be pushing myself and all of you this year!
Do you follow Chris’s stuff?
Did you come up with 3 words to guide your year? Let me know on Twitter or in the comments.
