“Content” vs. Content

A lot is written and spoken about content marketing…and this post is about content, but I think it is easy for our focus to move towards “content” as a marketing approach and to lose sight of the idea that content is really about the words and symbols you are trying to communicate to your audience or your target audience.

So when you are creating “content” its important to put the content in the right perspective….which means:

* Focus on your audience

* Be careful that what you are saying is consistent with what you want to say

* Check your symbols

* If your message is going to a varied market, make sure your words and symbols don’t turn off certain segments of your target audience
