Strategy isn’t tough

I’ve often said that the ability to develop a strategy isn’t all that hard, it is a function of 3 simple questions:

1. What tangible value do you provide?

2. Who needs it and will buy it?

3. How do you reach them? 

The real value in strategy comes in the relentless work of focusing on these questions over and over again…asking yourself after every interaction whether or not you took steps that were consistent with your mission and your strategy. 

And, here’s the real tough part…when you find that you haven’t taken these actions, having the courage to admit your mistakes and changing what you have just done. 

So strategy isn’t tough, but execution is brutal.
