Our advertising industry has done a tremendous job of presenting so much “stuff” to us that we have no ability to discern all of it. Which ultimately leads to not paying attention.
Attention is the most pressing commodity.
This is why it is difficult to make headway on many issues. When there is so much information, you don’t just get through by making more noise or being louder and the same.
You gain attention by having a different perspective and offering that…if you are way out there, you aren’t likely to gain traction, but if you have a perspective that is relevant, coherent, and effective, you can gain attention…which can help with overcoming embedded ideas.
